UPDATE - As of December 18th we have been placed into Tier 3. As such we cannot accept any leisure stays and only those stays that meet the Government Guidelines i.e. stays for work, caring responsibilities, education, visiting your bubble or moving home (This is aside from the Christmas 5 day break 23 - 27 December).

We know many of you will have questions about Coronavirus & how we will be managing this during your stay so we have compiled a list of questions below.

Breakfast Service

​(please check your original confirmation prior to arrival - very frequently guests believe they have booked with breakfast on a 3rd party site when they have not and this is only realised when they arrive to check in - to avoid congestion at reception please check your original confirmation from the 3rd party in advance.)

A La Carte cooked breakfast will be available as normal (if included in the rate paid). Certain changes i.e. cutlery brought to the table after being seated, no buffet food, will be altered as per guidance. 


Check in Process at Reception 

Our normal check in procedure involves welcoming you and showing you the area on maps and providing guidebooks etc and then personally showing you to your room. Whilst we would love to continue doing so social distancing means this is not possible. Whilst maps are available we are also developing a guest website so guests can have easy access to tourist information and hotel information in one place. You will be emailed a link to the guest pack the day prior to your stay and you can access it using the QR code at reception. 

Under normal circumstances we would be carrying everyone's luggage as standard. If you are elderly or struggle with bags we can still assist. Staff can bring your bag from the car to outside your bedroom and will carry the luggage with protective gloves. 


Check Out

Again, this will be made as brief as is possible with a receipt sent via email rather than you needing to wait and have this handed to you.

If you collect a parking permit during your stay it is essential this is returned to reception. 

Please pop your key and parking permit in the box on the reception desk so it can be sanitised.


Evening Meal Options 

The Florence Arms will be open and available to guests from July 4th. They will also be operating room service for our guests if desired. 


How we are keeping staff & guests safe 

Hand sanitiser is available in all public areas and there will be clear markings at reception to ensure social distancing. 


If we require your card details or ID on check in 

In some cases we require card details or ID before we can check you in. In these cases we will contact you prior to arrival - please ensure we have an up to date contact number for you as if we cannot reach you in advance we may not be able to welcome you on arrival.



We will not be taking cash as a payment method during this time - please have your card available. If you do not have another means of payment unfortunately we will not be able to assist at this time.

Reopening and adjusting to the new normal is essential but it will take time for us to refine these new procedures. Please be aware check in may take slightly longer at the moment and staff are doing their very best under new and testing times.
